Tupping time

It’s that time of year again. As the nights draw darker and most batten down the hatches for winter, we have already got our sights on the Spring and the joy that seeing new born lambs brings.

Our first flock is due to lamb from March 2021, which means the rams went into the ewes in October 2020. In total, we have got 600 ewes to lamb – this means we are expecting over 1,000 Sustainably Farmed lambs to enter this World come spring 2021.

It’s great how farming forces us to remain future focussed and always have something to look forward to. Particularly with the second national lockdown, and the thought of lambs skipping about in the spring means we’re fortunate to be able to see a better and brighter future.

The next milestone will come in January 2021, when all of our ewes will be pregnancy scanned to see how many lambs we’re expecting. We’ll keep you posted on how this goes.
